Cerkev z dvojnim stropom

Obrnjeni so proti Mariji in opazujejo njeno kronanje. Jude Tadeja in kipom Pieta.

Church of All Saints in Livold
Church with a double ceiling
The succursal church of All Saints stands in the middle of the village Livold, not far from the main road and is orientated to the south-east. It was probably built towards the end of the 16th century. Its nave was extended and later a bell tower and a sacristy were added. It took its present form in the mid 19th century. The exterior is very well-maintained and orderly. The sanctuary is highlighted by two old linden trees.
Inside, the nave is 11 m long, 5,1 m wide and 4 m high. The presbytery is narrower than the nave, 5,8 m long and 4,45 m wide, with a 1 m high floor wall. It has a gothic ribbed vault and comprises two arcades and a five-eights close. The south and north walls of the presbytery have windows in a stone frame, which are baroque in shape. There are also two rectangular windows with stone frames on the north and south sides of the nave.

On the west side there is a bell tower with a copper roof. The upper part of the bell tower is covered with a root-like neogothic cap, decorated with metal vases at the edge. Under the eaves there are clocks, two bells hang in the bell tower today. The entrance portal is of stone and has a slightly suppressed arch. The year 1822, the owner´s initials and the house number 9 are found on the portal stone, which is very unusual. The interior of the church is modest. Interestingly, it is a double-ceiling church. The nave was first covered with a wooden ceiling which was later whitewashed. Today this ceiling is hidden under a new ceiling overlayed with wooden planks. In the past, the church was decorated with Stations of the Cross painted on glass with German inscriptions, which have not been preserved in their entirety.
The curch has a main altar and a side altars. The main altar is a neogothic piece of woodwork. It is decorated with an anonymous painting of the coronation of the Virgin Mary. The image as a whole is symmetrical. The Virgin Mary is painted in the upper part, with a crowd of saints arranged around her in a graduated formation. They are facing Mary and watching her coronation. The walls of the church are also decorated with paintings of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Sacred Heart of Mary. In addition to the paintings, the church is furnished with a processional cross, a sculpture of the Immaculate Virgin from the beginning of the 20th century, a new relief of St. Jude Thaddeus and the sculpture of Pieta. The side altar leans against the wall, it is very simple, small and wooden.

Despite its small size and seeming insignificance, I think that the Church of All Saints is very interesting and important because of its history, and still today, it is the place where catholic services are held. I especially like the area where the church stands, as it is surrounded by nature.
